Meet the Team That Makes it Happen

From the very beginning of your homebuilding journey to the final walkthrough, your new home in the Greater Kansas City area passes through the hands of a small but passionate team that treats every project as if it were their own home.  

Garret and Gerald Syler, a father-son duo with deep roots in the industry, founded Syler Construction in 2009 with a vision to bring integrity and craftsmanship to every project. Their combined experience—spanning everything from site planning to company leadership—sets the tone for how we approach every build: with precision, passion and purpose. 

Design plays a major role in making a house feel like home, and our Interior Designer and Project Manager, Megan Seise, helps make that happen. With a keen eye for detail and a genuine interest in what each homeowner wants, Megan guides you through selections that make your space uniquely yours. 

In the field, you’ll find our Project Manager, Chad Burkhart, our General Field Superintendents, Chris Barklage and Kevin Nieweg, and our Superintendent, Tim Geeseman—each of them bringing years of experience and a deep sense of pride in their work. From managing daily operations to overseeing framing and millwork, they’re the boots on the ground who make sure things run smoothly and safely. 

While much of the work is visible on-site, there’s also essential coordination happening behind the scenes. Our Office Manager, Stephanie Wetzel manages the details that keep the process smooth—from contracts and change orders to numbers and timelines—ensuring that everything stays on track from day one until move-in day. 

Each person on our team brings something unique to the table, but together, we share one common goal: to build a home that means something to you.
